Overview
Suitable for use inside and out, Leyland Trade Undercoat in White is a high opacity base coat most suited to providing a foundation for gloss paint. It works well with the . It's alkyd based with a dense covering and a superb capacity for hiding imperfections.

Clean Up | Remove as much of the product as possible immediately from your equipment. Clean immediately after use with White Spirit or Turpentine Substitute |
Preparation
Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease.
- Remove all loose and defective paint. If the surface you are applying the Leyland Trade Undercoat to is new or bare timber, first apply a primer, which will soak in and provide a bond.
- Rub down sound previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key.
- Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Application
Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
- Stir well before use. Apply the undercoat with a brush or roller.
- For best results, the brush should be fully loaded. Do not thin.
- Apply one or more coats as required and wait 16-24 hours for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat.
- Don't apply over polystyrene surfaces.
